From one desert to another

A lot of things have happened in the last month-or-so, so there hasn't been a lot of time to update this. This semester I have been taking a course titled Advanced Power Electronics, which delves into DC-DC, DC-AC, AC-DC and AC-AC converters. The course ended up being a heavier load (haha?) than I expected, but it all ended well.

Climbing-wise, I managed to do two goals this year, which were to take at least 2 trips to climbing areas not in Arizona. Thinking back on the experiences, I've learned a few things. Trips to areas out of state are quite different than climbing locally. There's a large variety of styles you need to adapt to, and managing resources climbing-wise (skin, energy, food), and other things (sleeping, weather, etc..) play a much bigger role. I ended up going to Joe's Valley for Thanksgiving with some members of the discord crew, where I sent some things (Kill by Numbers (and the extended version), Great White, Poricini and Portobello, Eurosize), and punted horribly off of some other things(Big Joe, Water Paintings). I ended up with a slight injury from Big Joe, which I think has healed by now, but who knows. I also made another trip to Red Rock with Ben, who is visiting from Minnesota. We ended up circuiting around Kraft Boulders. I was able to get a repeat on the Pearl with decent beta, and finally put down the Monkey Bar Traverse, which in hindsight, isn't all that difficult, but it's a bit harder when you don't have much skin, and when it turns out you've been grabbing the sloper instead of the jug at the end. I also managed to send a few more boulders, Cocaine Corner and Table Topper, at the local choss pile, Pima Canyon. It's not exactly an outstanding tick list, but it'll do.

Next year, I hope to be a bit more prepared. I've been scouting out some potential lines to try, and the stoke is high.

Anyways...photos and videos
