The last two weekends, I spent back at the local crags. At Groom Creek, I did Full Moon, and repeated Eclipse and some other moderates in preparation for the longer boulder problems at Cherry Canyon. The very last weekend I went back to the draw and attempted to regain my fitness on roofs. I hope to spend a bit more time at Puzzle Box Roof and Mars Roof in order to build up the power and power endurance for the projects, as I've been feeling a bit unconditioned and sloppy lately.

Feburary
A few weeks ago I went to Hueco with Ben, Kevin Fahey and other members of the Phoenix climbing community. The first day there, we went on a tour on East Mountain where we tried sampled classics like 3-star arete, Brutus, Hobbit in a Blender, Man Gum, and Ultramega. I was able to put together all the moves of Ultramega quickly, but ran out of energy as it was the end of the day. We took a look at Full Service, and I can't wait to come back and put some actual effort into it. It's fun being able to climb on a bunch of lines that are normally off-limits, though I wish we had a bit more time to get acclimated to the actual rock. The day after, it was the rodeo, which basically meant you got to treat East, West, and East Spur like a normal crag-except you could be warming up on a V0 and there's a pro warming up on some V14. It was fun being able to try and do a bunch of moderates that I had never seen before, though it wasn't great for the competition as most of the locals had the hardest climbs of the category well-dialed. On rodeo day, I ended up hopping on whatever everybody thought was good, which was Nobody's Funky, That Hi-Pro Glow, New Religion, and Walrus in a Blender. That Hi-Pro Glow ended up being an amazing climb, with Kevin and I both sending. New Religion ended up being the most underwhelming climb I've ever done. It was slightly better than DDD. The day afterwards, we took an active rest day and went wandering around North. I tried Choir Boys, but I got utterly destroyed. On the last day, Kevin and I ended up making a visit to the Martini Cave where I repeated Baby Martini again, put in some effort on Big Iron on His Hip. I would like to make a return trip, but it seems quite unlikely as decent weather has finally come in Arizona.
